This cannot be done this way on the early third Gen trucks, as you will need to install a conventional remote start with transponder bypass if you have the gray key(The black key isn't required to have that). Not sure about the 3.5 Gen trucks though, as they started to get the newer CAN Bus systems from the factory...

I did mine yesterday, took be about 30 minutes to do as I was cheap and didn't buy the T Harness. As for the hood switch, I used a plastic enclosed mercury tilt switch and stuck it to the underside of the hood. Works well....

received my parts, went to instal and it is not recognizing my key FOB looks like they did not flash it correctly. Should have purchased the xloader2 to do it myself. Why is it that people can not do things correctly the first time? I am extremely frustrated right now.

The unit doesn't care how many FOBS are programmed. Basically all the Key FOBs have the same code, the DB unit just needs that code to send the address to the FCM/PCM on the CAN C Bus for the start sequence....

Just curious hope some will chime in that has knowledge on this thanks in advance
Im sure you guys already know this, but I found this today at work about the horn chirp:

Sound Horn With Remote Key Lock

This feature will cause the horn to chirp when the doors
are locked with the RKE transmitter. This feature can be
turned on or turned off. To change the current setting,
proceed as follows:
• For vehicles equipped with the EVIC, refer to “Electronic
Vehicle Information Center (EVIC)/Customer-
Programmable Features (System Setup)” in “Understanding
Your Instrument Panel” for further
information.
• For vehicles not equipped with the EVIC, perform the
following procedure:
1. Press the LOCK button on a programmed RKE transmitter
for at least four seconds, but no longer than ten
seconds. Then, press the PANIC button while still holding
the LOCK button.
2. Release both buttons at the same time.
3. Test the feature while outside of the vehicle by pressing
the LOCK button on the RKE transmitter with the
ignition switch in the OFF position and the key removed.
4. Repeat these steps if you want to return this feature to
its previous setting.

NOTE: Pressing the LOCK button on the RKE transmitter
while you are in the vehicle will activate the Vehicle
Security Alarm System. Opening a door with the Vehicle
Security Alarm System activated will cause the alarm to
sound. Press the UNLOCK button to deactivate the
Vehicle Security Alarm System.
Using The Panic Alarm

To turn the Panic Alarm feature ON or OFF, press and
hold the PANIC button on the RKE transmitter for at
least one second and release. When the Panic Alarm is on,
the headlights will turn on, the park lights will flash, the
horn will pulse on and off, and the interior lights will
turn on.

Any one know if we can use one of the other buttons on the fob instead of the lock one?
