I found alot of mixed reviews when buying my tires last september... But what alot of the negative views dont tell is their driving style, "ya I only got 20,000 miles out of them" what he didnt write is that he was burning out at the costco parking hoods up club every sunday....... if all the bad reviews are consistent enough with each then I would listen to them, if its just a bunch of people saying these tires suck for no given reason I would pay a whole lot of attention

Off topic but I have another question for you gentlemen. I called my dealership today and the service dept said the lift has to be installed my them and it has to be a mopar part or it will void the warranty. Then I called the Internet sales guy and he said as long as I stay under 2.5 I'll be good. Right now I wanna do a level and 1.25 body lift. Internet guy said I'll be fine. However I'm a little worried about not getting serviced if something breaks. Your thoughts and experiences are appreciated.

A lot of people will quote the Maggnuson/Moss (spelling?) warranty act, which basically says that the dealer has to prove an aftermarket part caused a failure. However, dealers have a lot of say in what is and what isn't covered. You have some dealers selling new trucks with full suspension lifts and superchargers and some that threaten to void your warranty if you go up one tire size. When I purchased my Wrangler, my dealer agreed to buy and install my lift kit as part of the deal as well as buy back my OEM tires/wheels so I could install larger aftermarket items. Best advise is to ask YOUR dealer. If you don't like the answer, tell them you are going to take your business elsewhere.
But the whole idea of the lift has to be a Mopar part and they have to install it is complete BS. If that was true dealers could void your warranty if you do your own oil change and use a Puralator or K&N oil filte!

Thanks for the reply. I was satisfied with the answer from the internet guy I talked to, but not the service dept. Im just confused on who to believe at this point. Seems theres somone not telling the truth.

^^ I agree, alot of dealer sell lifted trucks brand new (ok fine they installed the lift), it is kind of stupid that it is the dealers say whether or not they will warranty it on behalf of dodge, considering they dont pay out of their pockets for the repairs on the cliam, that gets billed back to dodge...

look into the magnusson act and maybe print it out too just incase, but what is the lift going to do is what I would ask myself, bigger tires WILL put more strain on your wheel bearing regardless of lift, so if you put bigger ones on count yourself out for those (unless there is a recall on them) I would assume tie rod and ball joint would be out of the picture too as far as getting warranty on BUT, those parts should wear out after your warranty is up anyways so you really arent losing much there....... Thats just the way I look at that kind of thing

Best wearing tire I ever had was 10 years ago on my 99 Ram. I bought a set of Yokohama Geolander AT+II 285/75-16...I got close to 60,000 out of them before I traded her in. They rode extremely well, quiet, and had great tread. I think they changed the tread pattern to something less aggressive now though.

Today, I would vote for the BFG's like everyone else did.

not saying the BFG's are no good but i got 33,000 miles on mine and they should have been changed a while ago. i do a bunch of gravel driving but still they lasted 2 and half years so its not bad considering the time frame and that they were the original tires the truck was sold with. got something better on the way anyways

I've got Nitto 295/65/20 Trail Grapplers. I know they're MTs but they've worn REALLY well. I've got 40K on them right now. My Wrangler HPs were worn down BAD at 30k and they're supposed to last longer!

Another post for BFG's. The T/A KO I've had treat luck and right around 50K Miles on two sets. My father-in-laws truck came with the BFG Long Trails and his is still pissed off because he is so tight he won't change the tires until they are worn out and they are at 74K miles and still with about 1/8 of tread left I was simple blown away, when I saw them and he said they were factory tires still. They are one regular cab F150 with a V-6 so that probably helped some. They are just to street oriented for me, I'll stick with the T/A KO's.
