Default intake...?

hey I was thinking about taking out the hatbill thing that is hooked into my throttle body and replacing it with a straight pipe in to hopefully get a lil better air flow. has anyone done this wit the v6? if so where did u put the iat sensor? and did it help the poor lil v6 get out of its own way on the highway?!? lol it's my work/ school truck so I'm not looking to drop much money into it. what is ur best mod for a little get up and go that isn't Gunna make me go broke?

If it's anything like the hemi, its a resonator to quiet down the intake noise. It may help a little to remove it, but probably not enough to be noticeable. What you need are gears to help get that thing moving. A steeper gear (higher numerical ratio) will get the engine closer to it's powerband (with a 3.7 it's a little higher) to get the truck going and not have to work as hard.

thanks for the input I ended up taking the resonator out and just puttin a higher flow drop in filter in. I did notice a little extra power get up and go but not till it hits higher rpms. what is the stock gear ratio for the 3.7 and what would a better gear ratio be? I don't know much about gears but that makes alot of sense. would adding a less restrictive exhaust also give me any better throttle response?
