My issue with this is why are they not all ticking. The only answer I can come up with is bad lifters or pushrods that are not consistent length. Either way I would not have bought this truck if I had thought it would sound like this. Dodge should be ashamed at how our trucks sound. I'm embarrassed to pull up and talk to someone while the truck is running. I wish it could be fixed.

I agree. Wish I was a lawyer to start some sort of lawsuit.

I agree Dodge is liable for this issue. However is does not seem to cause a problem beside it being annoying. I could see it being a problem if you tried to sell the truck used and someone heard the noise. I will not keep my truck very long because of this issue and the fuel economy ratings that are unatainable.

one of the issues is that the oil in todays engine is so thin its like water. I was told to use royal purple and it takes the tick away. This is a common hemi issue and its perfectly normal. I was also told to stay away from Mobil 1 oils, it makes the tick worse. Pennsoil and Royal Purple are supposed to fix the tick...And to the guy with the 5.3 engine they tick the worst at idle. Damn Chevys 4.8/5.3/6.0 all have no oil pressure at idle and the composite plastic piece mounted on the crankshaft that turns the oil pump scares me. I just replaced a 5.3 oil pump the other day.

I agree with the thin oil, I am using mobil1 now and I will never use it again. I am trying pennzoil next. Is it pennzoil convential or synthetic that quiets the tick? I need to find a way to make this noise better.

Maybe mine isn't as bad as others, but maybe some folks get fixated on the sound? It's not really annoying to me, just a mechanical sound is all

I dunno man, that tick tick is just like Chinese water torture to me. It's a good thing you can't hear it with the windows up. I do have to admit that if you are trying to sell the truck, and the buyer doesn't know it's normal, you could lose the sale.

My 2012 has 1800 miles on it now, and I just noticed the click on Saturday, even though I can't hear it all the time, It still drives me up a wall because I know its going on, and it's a brand new truck.

The Hemis have been a tickin' since "birth"....almost ten years now. Some more than others. It's the "nature of the beast".
