Question Pudding Check

Looks wise I'm sold on the Vararam for the 4th gens I'm just curious about performance numbers... is there any hard evidence out there that makes this product perform as good as it looks? Sorry for putting Vararam on the carpet... but I am in the "Show Me" state.

I too have been sitting on the fence over intakes. Been torn between the S&B and the Vararam. I don't have a problem with $300 to $400 for an upgrade or mod. I would however like to see some numbers from current users relating to fuel ecconomy. Manufacturer claims are one thing. I like real world hand calculated numbers.

I too wanted to see real numbers before I bought but I got a great deal on a used one so I just picked it up. I'm happy with mine and the but dyno feels and improvement. I would say you could go with volant, S&B, or Vararam an be happy. Just whatever you prefer.

If you're looking for "Real Dyno #'s" that may not be possible with a Ram air system. Dyno's are stationary, so their is no way to create the low pressure areas that the Ram air would have when in motion. Even a fan cannot produce the pressures involved here.

It's sucks, but IMHO that's why they have the buy back satisfaction Guarentee

PS, I plan on buying one. Hitting the track with before and after times. That should show the realworld improvements.

Wanted to touch base on this thread... I recieved a Vararam for Christmas and put in on that day! I can totally tell a huge difference with the Vararam on. It has a ton more throttle response and pulls harder through all the gears when I get on it (almost feels like I tuned it). I don't have hard numbers to give but I took the leap of faith and I'm glad I did! I've tried the Amsoil drop in, aFe stage 2 with a pro dry filter and now the Vararam and I'm most impressed with the Vararam. If I ever get another toy I will be putting the Vararam on it. The only thing I think would change about the system is the coupler that connects the filter to the throttle body and holds the temp sensor (seems a little flimsy) but, it looks awesome and it really opens up the engine bay for a cleaner look. It also doesn't interfere with the catch can at all... Oh and I forgot to mention that for the first time since I put the heavier 275-65-20 "E" rated Cooper Zeons on my truck I was able to break them free last night too!!!! Overall I am extremely happy with the Vararam and will buy another CAI from these guys should the opportunity present itself. I hope this helps anyone that was on the fence about this CAI like I was.

I also have come to r-e-a-l-l-y appreciate what the Vararam does for my `11 Ram. It breathes easily (and loudly) now and it's an obvious performance improvement...even in the absence of hard numbers!
