Are there any downsides to this besides the cost? Will the odometer still be the same? Will the dealership be able to see that you've swapped PCMs, even though you put the original one back in? Is there anything I'm missing? Cause this sounds too good to be true!

Actually if the dealer does a true scan yes they can tell, the pcm reads the hours and drive time so say you swap it out drive 4-5 months and you have a problem put old one back in take to dealer they scan it they are going to question that. But some folks dont care about warranty others do

Default Forgive my ignorance, but......

I am new to Dodge's and this whole lack of a tuner thing is really ticking me off!!!! If you swapped a 2010 PCM into a 2011/2012 , why can't you use an available tuner on it? I thought I read about someone doing that...

It wont work and the dealer will know its not the 2011 pcm but if you dont care about your warranty then go for it

I beleive chrys intentionally encrypted the pcms so you would have to buy their aftetmarket pcms slated to hit the shelves around the later part of 2012. And I beleive the Challengers will be the first to see them in hopes to not only sell the pcms but boost both Challenger and srt8 sales. They have no choice, Giles and Fiat have plans on the table to scrap the next gen Chally for a not so retro Alfa Cuda simular to what they did to the 2013 Dart. Have patience, we should hear something before the 13's hit the floor. They're already there for the new crate engines...I have a good feeling that something is going to give.

^^^ True Statement here. As for the B&G's not being able to be tuned by a handlheld tuner like SC and DSP well its because B&G "Flashed" it and they arent going to let it be able to be manipulated by anyone but themselves. Business is business people got to feed there kids... Now i think that Diablo could probably take one of B&G's PCM's crack it and make it tunable by a custom DSP but i doubt they would waste all that time just for one PCM...
