I recently traded my labor (body work) for a high mileage '01 R1500 4x4. Within days I found a truck with 1/3 the miles (a 1-Owner 96 Ram w/ a 5.2L that was recently rolled) which I purchased then celebrated July 4th by swapping motors. All the electronics from the 5.9 were switched onto the motor and within a few hours I had it fired up... it idles good but pings like a mutha 40+mph. I now see the flex plate should be switched along with the ECM. Anybody know of anything else that could has been overlooked or an issue I might not yet be aware of?
...I know I should have done my homework BEFORE but live and learn - if it ain't broke just give me 15 minutes and tools & it will be
