Default Not new to dodge But.....

Good morning; I am not a new Dodge owner but have just purchased a 2004 4.7L 5 speed manual and had a bit of trouble yesterday doing about 75 when it was like someone turned the key off and the truck coasted to a stop. While setting along the side of the road I tried severaltimes to start this truck, and it would but stop as soon as I let go of the key. Now mind you at this point I hadn't turned the ignition to off yet. I sat there probably 45 minutes with the ignition still in on position, before turning to the off position. After turning it to off I still sat there another 15 to 20 minutes before trying to start again. This time it started and I was able to continue my trip with no further problems. If anyone would have some suggestions I would like to hear them. The only thing that I can think of is the fuel pump. HELP!!!!

jacksonsnorth will become famous soon enough

If you have an obstruction in your fuel tank, rust or foreign object, it will die like that an start again and run fine until it gets obstructed again. I know because an old gf got pissed at me when I was young and put olives and some other crap in my fuel tank of my car. I didnt know this until I ran into her years later and she told me about it when we had a little grudge reunion, if you get my meaning. I had alot of issues with the car and ended up selling it because I got tired of putting new fuel pumps, cleaning carb, etc.... I never thought at the time, I was young, to change the fuel tank. So I chalked it up to her loading my fuel tank with crap after I finally foun out years later. Just food for thought. It sounds like the same thing. I would let it set and after a bit it would start and go again until it randomly shut off again. Just my .02 cents.
