Default Air fuel ratio gauge help

I bought my 04 dodge ram 5.7 a couple months ago and the guy had some gauges in it but they werent installed...and im trying to hook this air fuel ratio gauge up and its saying hook the purple wire to the signal wire...and i found some diagrams on the o2 sensor that shows were the signal wire is...ive hooked it up and waited for it to warm up cuz it has the heating element in it...does anybody know what i can do next...im lost and about to give up on it? Thanks for the help in advanced

Ive always run a/f gauges off of their own 02..

What brand is it

It is an autometer phantom 1 and yes i have the power and grpund both hooked up

Sounds like a narrow band gauge if it does not have its own O2 sensor.
Honestly it isn't really worth hooking up but if I was to guess I would say you have it on the wrong wire if you aren't getting any kind of reading.

when i turn the key on and not craking over it just says all the way rich and its always on on the way rich...but im not really worried about it anymore i have decided that imma just junk it and get a different gauge..thanks for trying to help and i havent picked which new gauge yet...im still looking
