and as far as the fan coming on due to a high temp that i would not know either. the only time i have seen my fan ( not heard ) come on is when the a/c is running. i dropped all my settings across the board 23 degrees on my predator cause i figured that was change from the stock t-stat to my new jet. so the high would have been 199* and the closest my coolant to getting that hot was today when it got to 190* ( but on that note i had to go to dodge today to get my horn replaced cause it stopped working ) so also i reverted back to my original back up and stock tune. so maybe thats why it got so hot.

i got my 180 t-stat early on as one of my first mods like 2 weeks after getting my truck so i never really payed attention to the temps i was running at untill i got the t-stat.

Yeah I used to monitor my temps when stock and while moving it seemed like 203 was were it hung out. Now it's like say 93 when moving. So I dropped the tstat temp by 15 deg (theoretically) but it was actually only a 10 deg tstat drop (since I tested it and it opened at more like 185). So my operating temp dropping 10 deg makes sense to me (same drop as the tstat...)

It sounds a lot different at high speed. You can watch it.....start the truck and turn on the ac before it warms up to operating temp and then let it creep up to your high speed setting. My fan will cool the truck from 195 ish down to 181 pretty dang quick on high speed!

My issue is I don't know what speed I'm adjusting with the SC tuner(it only has one adjustment). I assume it's the low since it doesn't really drop the temp fast, it more like holds the temp.

One of these days I'll play with the wiring in the fan and apply power to the low/high speed wires to listen to it to see how it's running with the SC tuner. I still think I'll eventually get an aftermarket controller. Either way though, I am not having cooling issues, just want more control over the fan speeds/settings.

It sounds like from what you're saying the fan speed with AC on is low speed. If that's the case then low is all I have apparently with the SC tuner(since mine sounds the same as when the AC is on vs when it gets hot enough to kick the fan on).

I don't think diablo has fan control for the 4.7L, unfurtonately. I prefer the SC tunes over diablo tunes though, plus I like the transmission capabilities.

I'll probably be stuck doing an aftermarket controller. That may be a good thing though. Maybe I can hook it up to come on when the trans reaches a certain temp as well, I know my trans gets pretty hot when I sit for a long time in traffic. Although when that happens the fan usually comes on anyway since engine temp rises.

haha. That's not a better idea!

The hemi is great but I love the 4.7L. I am very confident I can hit 400hp (300+ rwhp) with my engine if I can get cams and long tubes. As I sit I'm probably about 350hp.

I think I get good mpg too compared to a hemi, but then again who know because people's claimes of mpg can't always be trusted. Some say they get 18avg and some say 12 avg lol.

The new 4.7 is a lot better motor than the previous ones. Just get a remote turno and call that 400 HP a day!

^I wish. Don't have the thousands to spend on a turbo setup. I could do $1,500 for long tubes and cams though . That'd be the extent of the performance mods for my truck. I have another project I need to get working on that I'd rather build into a power house. I maybe wouldn't even want to go through the trouble of swapping the cams either, but then again if I'm at say 375hp and cams would push me over 400 I'd probably do it just so I could get a license plate that reads "400hp47" or something like that lol.
