Default First Oil Change?

I have the 2012 Longhorn w/hemi 5.7. I have about 1100 mikes on it now and wondering what is everyone opinion on the first oil change. Dealer said they would call for first 1 and it is on them. Nothing on the evic yet. My questions are should I be running synthetic and if so what brand and weight, how often should I get her done and for the first one should I get in now or wait? Truck runs great and i want to take care of it.

I changed my oil at 3000 miles on my new Charger RT with the Hemi. after that I waited for 4000-4500. The first couple oil changes I'd run the mix that mopar uses, after that if you want to spend a little more you can use the full synthetic Mobil 1 is what I use

I ran mine so hard before the first change that I went directly to full syn. Im using Valvoline, IIRC, its 5-20w? or 5-30? Its on the cap.

I dont wait for 5000 or whatever for the first change, I did it at 1450 miles because, as I said, I towed heavy and hard from 1100miles to 1450. The oil was BLACK so Im glad I did.

I just got my 5.7L Express about a month ago, the dealer I bought from said to change it at 3000 the first time, and its 5W20 oil.

I just changed mine at 550 miles this past weekend and went to full synthetic Pennzoil Platinum. I always do my own oil changes and just write down when I do them in the owners manual so the dealer wont ever give me a hard time. After that I'll stick to 3000-4000 mile intervals.

Dealer told me the first one should be around 3000 then 4 - 5 after that. I just had my first done on Saturday.

I dumped the factory fill at 750 miles. I poured in Pennzoil Yellow Bottle and went to 5,000 miles. I am going to stick with 5k oil change intervals for as long as I own the truck.

I purchased four cases of Mobil Super 5000 conventional and some Bosch filters when they were on killer sales.....and thats my choice.

Man GoIrishPat, you know you just opened a can of all kinds of different opinions about when and what type of oils? Well, being our Hemis come with standard copper core plugs and 5w/20 oil, I feel more comfortable with the old ways on this one. Like most are saying here, 3 to 5000 sounds good to me, and 30K for standard plugs(according to maintenance schedule) also sounds good to me. As far as dinosaur(conventional) or synthetic oil, its really what you personally believe in that works for you and your situation. Like MtnAdventurerider says, "It's your choice"; It's your ride.
