Default Cooling Fan & Heater Core Question

Hey everyone...

Couple quick questions for you...

1) Has anyone ever heard of their heater core "burping"? When I start my truck, and hit the gas, for the 1st few seconds, it sounds as if the water is "rushing" or "burping" through the heater core, then stops. It gets warm like it always has, and I don't notice a leak anywhere, and I haven't noticed any water levels going down. Could that possibly be an air bubble in the system?

2) Is it a huge advantage on this truck ('98 R1500 4x2 5.9) to get rid of the flex fan & fan extender and put an electric fan on the radiator? Pros and cons?

Thanks for the help in advance.

Well most of the time the burp or gurgle that you hear is caused by low water in system. But sence levwl is good you might need to back flush the core and look for leaks at firewall. As for electric fans I've had them on a 91 s10 4 banger. They work well but once in a while melt relays, could not have ac on in traffic.
