Default My Ram with my plow

I don't want to get into should I or shouldn't I and I did. -
I put a light plow on my Ram with a leveling kit a year ago = 15,000 miles, [total mileage on vehicle is 30,000 mi] yesterday when I used my 4 wheel drive for the 1st time this year I had what felt like wheel hop in 4 inches of snow. They shake a lot on bare pavement in 4 wd during a hard start. I took it to my Dodge store and they told me my CV joints are worn because of the leveler kit. They even disconnected the front shaft on the lift. I can understand what they say. But what to do ? Is there a better CV shaft I can put in ? Will it hurt anything to wait until it gets worse ?

thanks

Shouldn't hurt anything else while the CV joints get worse. Maybe you'll get through one more winter before they need to be replaced.

Fit it now. As to your question in what to do? Lose the leveling kit and plow combo. Either plow and no level or level and no plow. Leveling kits can be very hard int he front end as they extend everyone cv shafts ball joints etc

I was talking to some of the guys and they told me CV joints are a common failure in the Ram's, is this true ?

They are also part of the powertrain warrantee, and should be covered at 30,000 mi. My local dealer told me 180 $ each plus, so maybe they decided not to pursue it because of the blocks. ?

later

They would be covered, but in this case the failue can be relatively easily traced to a modification you made, hence they will not be covered. As said earlier, leveling an IFS puts the half shafts at an extreme angle and is hard on them.

Update is I had my local garage replace the cv joints and shafts and we still have the same problem. It's the front drive shaft next. What else could it be ? What if it still has the shimmy ? The front tires still feel way out of balance under acceleration 0 to 20 , it shakes the steering wheel. it doesn't do it so much at speed however it is still there. in 4 wd only. I just read about ram death wobble and it isn't that. Like stated Dodge doesn't want any part of warrantee.
I would add why didn't it do it for the 1st 15000 miles and now it does it ? Something must have changed ?
Can someone help with info ?

loose the leveling kit and see if that takes care of the problem.

Also since you have been running a plow have the unit bearings checked.

You might have damaged one of the differentials with the wheel hop in 4 wheel drive. I would have both opened up and checked.

Only thing I can think of since you have done other work to correct.
