Default Needin some advice from anyone that has some

Alright, well I'm in college right now just doing my basics, but i gota declare a major. The problem i have is, i have no idea what major to go for. What Im wanting to do is something related to vehicles. I was thinking about maybe a job that has to do with the electric stuff on cars, or electric cars. Because my dad's a mechanic, ive had my share of mechanic work to do, and id rather find something that is easier and pays better. Any advice on what major i should do? And what job would be that kind of stuff? Like maybe working for a dealership or something? I dont know, needing advice.

I know going to college is probably not exactly what I need to be doing for this kind of job, but what degree would be the best. Maybe even what degree for being like the head of a dealership or something.

If you are in traditional college and not a tech college, then most of what they offer for degrees won't get you much practical education for working at a dealership except maybe a business major. I'd hit a couple of dealerships and see if you could job shadow for a day, see what actually happens at one and get an idea of what type of jobs there are. You might be surprised.

Computer software. Plenty of opportunites in automotive and great fallback options if you can't score one of those. A lot of universities combine Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering into a single major. That might be a good option too.

Have you looked into millwright at all? I'm currently apprenticing for millwright and love it. millwrights do everything from electrical to welding to machining, plumbing, erecting buildings ,work on pumps ect. almost everything. the possibilities are endless, every day is something new. and it pays very well. if you dont mind travelling were talking double a mechanics wage

You you want to work on equipment, take a training course on a fantastic piece of equipment, then decide if it is what you want to do
hydraulics, electrical, pumps, engines, Venturi fans, centrifugal compressors & that is not the truck itself, just the equipment mounted on the truck

along the lines of what excoastie said - major in mechanical engineering for your 4 year degree then get an MBA.
