what radio do you have? Must be the RES or the REQ. Is this correct.
The USB connector goes directly into the Uconnect module which is located to the far right side of the dash structure. If you drop the glovebox all the way down toward the floor. Look inside the dash to the far right, you will see a black module about 4"x6". It'll look like the the one below. (the PN may be slightly different but it looks just like this one)Can you take a picture of the module so I can see the PN & SW version? Also can you check the smaller connector and make sure that it is seated firmly. Thanks

XSDBS I currently have a call into my dealer to get the info you asked for, I believe you are correct that they killed the original modules and screwed something up big time. The other thing is that some times it doesn't say its not charging it just doesn't. Im assuming this is what the dealer had happen when he used his phone.

Yeah, that's the same as I got plugging into the radio usb, but we're past that now.. Let's concentrate on the glovebox & module area now, ok.

I see that your truck is listed as a 2011. Do you know the build date? There may be a sticker on the drivers door, look for code MHD.

there are 2 RES radios
one does Not have the phone on it & does not work with Uconnect

I believe that you have this one, i see it does not have the USB on the radio face
The other one does have the phone button on it & works with Uconnect

All I know for sure is I have U connect and that works fine (now) I have one usb port in my upper glove box and up until they put a new module in it 30 days ago it charged my black berry fine for over a year
