First check oil filling cup for yellow creamy stuff on it, remove baffe oil fill and check underneath (it is "restriction" inside oil cup) - just grab it and lift it - sometimes top of the cup is OK but under the baffe is world of sludge.
Did you change oil, filter, timing?

I've heard that the cold lifter noise is normal, mine has done it for the last 20,000 miles. Take good care of her and she will last for a long time! 172,000 on mine.

mine is just about to hit 60,000 and mine makes the same tick i am newer to this gen and this motor myself. do you know if any of the fluid changes were done or spark plugs or anything like that because the book says diff fluid and trans fluid and spark plugs at 60k miles i don't know the 03 4.7 but my 08 has 16 spark plugs and one set is due at 60k and the other is due at 100k. so i would say hit up the manual for that.

Well I put some seafoam in my oil a day or so ago and today I changed it but I drained a quart then put Half a bottle of seafoam in it ran it for a few min then changed the oil and ran some in the intake and let it sit for a few hours then at start up it ticked for 5 seconds the quit cold turkey, before the oil change it would do it until warm. And I I'd find some creamy gunk on the oil cap but not a lot

did your lifter tick go completely away after the seafoam in the oil? I've been kinda nervous to put anything in my oil, but if it works...

What would the 'yellow creamy stuff' signify, If I may ask?

It's emulsification (oil/water mix). The oil cap is the highest point in the system, so it's where stuff collects that isn't burned off. My hemi does this as well. Just wipe it out. You'll get less of it if you let the engine warm up before going anywhere, or ensuring that it actually gets warm. Short trips it generally doesn't get warm enough to burn off the condensation in the oil.
