Default Uconnect questions

I saw a Uconnect for a Jeep on ebay for sale Does anyone know if it would fit on a 2010 ram? Is there a difference in them or is it the length of the cable?

well, we really need more information here in order to help'
1) is it only the Uconnect module?
2) what radio do you have?
3) Your 2010 ram currently does not have Uconnect, correct (you're not just trying to upgrade a module, correct)
4) If your vehicle does not currently have uconnect in it and is either a RES, REQ, RHB, RBZ or REN radio, then you will need a complete kit. PN 82212159 and the USB / iPod cable PN 82212160.
5) once the install is done you will need to have the dealer flash the vehicle for code RSP (uconnect). They will try to charge you an hr for labor but let them know that you're aware that it takes less than 1/2 hr and are willing to pay $50.
6) If it's a RER radio, then you only need a mic kit and then to have the Uconnect enabled.

look on the lower right corner of the radio faceplate. You will see a 3 digit code like: RES< REQ< RBZ< RHB< RER etc

Hello, I installed the uconnect 82212159 and the 82212000 cable to my RES radio that the dealer recommended and I can't seem to get it to work with my 5th gen ipod nano. UCI initializing and then no device found Is this the correct set up or do I need the 82212160 cable? Will I be able to control the ipod functions through the radio.

I'm pretty much sure that the dealer sold you the wrong cable. If your module looks like the one below (with 3 connectors) then you will need the 82212160 cable.

Now, I'll bet that it is the same as the 1 pictured but you have the gray 10 pin connector for the iPod plugged into the module, correct. There won't be anything plugged into that connector, it is there for Factory testing. In the 2010 module (which would only have 2 Gray connectors on the module) it is used for the 82212000 iPod cable that you have. You just have 2 different year parts that aren't compatible with each other.

Hello, I do have the 3 plug module,so the 82212160 has the mini usb male connector and the ipod cable then plugs into the female usb A, correct? Is this cable able to control the ipod through the radio or is this website incorrect? Why does the the module have this plug for the 82212000 cable if it is for diagnostics? I have contacted Dodge corprate and they said the radio need a software upgrade that won't be out for another few months. I hope they aren't blowing smoke up my *%!

(YES) Is this cable able to control the ipod through the radio or is this website incorrect? (controls will be thru the radio, You will have voice commands as well as being able to use the radio preset buttons 1-4 and the tuning knob for controls) Why does the the module have this plug for the 82212000 cable if it is for diagnostics? (There are several connectors in a vehicle that are the same but are used for different functions) I have contacted Dodge corprate and they said the radio need a software upgrade that won't be out for another few months. I hope they aren't blowing smoke up my *%! (The radio may need an update for better performance, but this won't keep the iPod from working)
