Default My new launching technique

Don't turn off tcs and launch at low rpm and stab the gas. Did some racing this weekend and figured this out. It also depends on the road, some roads are pretty slick and others you won't peel rubber but for just a second. Tcs on for slick ones and off for stickier ones

My preference is:

1) Turn tow/haul button on
2) ESP button off
3) Idle up to about 1000 rpm or so with foot on brake
4) Quickly ease into throttle while releasing foot from brake.

Pretty similar to yours really.

tow/haul on
go from a dig (stalling tends to activate torque management)
manual shifting so i can shift at 6500 rpms

Tow Haul on
TCS off (spinning a few feet will usually get you up and going faster than dead hooking, at least when dealing with drag cars, im sure the theory is the same, and im talking about 3-5 tire rotations not a burnout spinning)
900-1100 RPM foot braking and stab the throttle to the floor as you dump the foot brake
manual shift so I get 3rd or 2nd prime or whatever that stupid gear is

Spin is the wrong word to use really. You dont want them to spin through the RPM range, just for the first few feet. Once they hook (hopefully) they create a greater boost forward. Its called generating wheel speed and is what x275 and out law drag radial racers rely on.

Again, it doesnt completely apply to our trucks because well they are trucks and not drag cars, but the theory is the same

My launch technique is kind of specific to my setup:
4WD (Auto Mode aka AWD) 4 Drag Radials, 3000 stall TC,

ESP off
Tow/Haul on
Put it in 2WD, for short burnout
Water box punch throttle, no brakes, let it roll out 1-2 seconds
(just to get a little heat on the rear tires, spin the dirt/dust off)

flip to 4 auto while approaching the start line
deep stage by just inching it over the line
light touch on the brake and rev to 800-1000rpm, just enough to take the slack out of the driveline.

Stab the throttle Hard in the middle of the second yellow usually gets me under .099 r/t.

Rear tires chirp, any more than 1 full revolution engages front drive shaft, front grabs and jumps off the line like a Jack Rabbit.
Front drive disengages once I'm rolling automatically. If the rear tires grab from launch, front drive shaft never engages.

Feels like the front end is coming off the ground
1.8 - 60 footer every time! regardless of track conditions/prep.

Pre-Launch Rake

Post Launch Squat
