I appreciate that, and I'll admit, I was a little overly sarcastic and shouldn't have been.

My boss does it to me all the time and it's like being at my grandmother's and watching old Quincy episodes. Every episode his boss tells him he's wrong and in the end... Every show.

I realize the problem with the vents is an issue. What compounds it is that they aren't replaceable, nor is the check ball. So in the end, it's the same thing only different and the tank will have to come out. Working in the scrap yards I have the unique opportunity to just cut things in half to see why they malfunctioned, and/or what makes them work.

In any event, no harm no foul, and I reciprocate what you said. If I offended you, you have my apology.

My '08 has done the same thing since the day I bought it and I haven't taken the time to take it in. It doesn't do it if I slow the pump down right before the tank is full, otherwise it sprays gas all over the dam place. Doesn't matter which station I'm at.

This is a known problem with the Nitro as well. Only fix is replacing the gas tank. I have had it happen to me one too many times. Doesn't happen at every pump though. The gas station I frequent I know which pumps I can use without the spewing. I have also taken to wadding up gas station towels under the nozzle to catch the flow so it doesn't get all over the paint.

Default Recall?

Has anyone heard of a recall for this issue? My truck is a 2007 1500 with 30K on it and it does this during every fill up.

i know this thread is long dead, but i wanted to update it if anyone encounters the issue also. especially with these trucks hitting the 2nd and 3rd owners by now. Anyways It was 100% the gas tank valve, which requires the replacement of the tank. Dealer replaced the tank with the aforementioned $100 warranty and it solved the problem.
