Nice, I will see if I can get something like that welded on to my truck. I would like to have back and front ready for a winch.

I can put the winch on the back as well. I used #2 wire and shot it through the frame rails to the rear. Used large Anderson connectors (see pics) for the connections (red connectors in pics).

well as far as the mount plate you linked goes....
Description

Easily attach a winch to your rig with the CURT Winch Mount. Having a winch available can make a world of difference when your buddy’s rig gets caught up. Mounting that winch is fast and simple with the CURT Winch Mount. This durable winch mount attaches any brand of winch into your 2” receiver so you can hook-up the pulling power you need.

so I'm guessing it'll work

Most bought winch cradles only go up to 8 or 9,000lb. That's one reason I had mine made from stronger stuff (1/2" steel plate, welded to 2" receiver). U also want 1.5 times the weight of the truck to size the winch U are buying. U can put the winch cable through a snatch block and then back to the truck and double the pull strength of the winch U have too.

Well I have to agree with alot of this information, but I would invest in a good 6" wide recovery strap. Have yet to break one, but it can pull off a bumper. Winches go out, straps are always ready. (Have had too many winches decide not to work) Also in that situation a decent all terrain would really help, and a full blown mud tire would have at least covered the rest of the truck in mud. LOL

You my friend need some tires! I've been eyeing winch setups for a while now. I dont like the curt idea bc it hangs LOW. I already bow my bumper in on ditch crossing

Not too sure on how they couldnt pull you out either. I managed this last weekend. Hell my rear bumper was on the ground, darn D-Ring (which is under water) was laying horizontal on the ground! Buddy has an identical truck as me darn near idled me out. No more showing out in 2wd for this guy, Swampers facked me

Yeah candy08, now that's stuck! I wouldn't have gone in that swamp, I know better lol. U need a winch on that truck for sure! Don't forget extra lengths of cable to reach the trees. Straps are good too. The only thing is...If all U have is a strap and noone else is there to pull U out.... Get a winch!
