Let the truck run and then open up the coolant pressure cap (right above where you add coolant at) and your probably gonna half to do this 3-4x. Just open it, then you'll hear/feel the coolant equalizing through the system, and keep doing this until this stops. Check your coolant level after this and fill to the proper level.

I'm sure its soft until you get the coolant equalized through the system and should fill up the hose back up again, which probably would cause it to get more firm. Like I said just let the truck warm up in the drive way pop the cap off then put it back on and keep repeating until you don't hear the "gushing" noise. Shouldn't be to terribly difficult, just make sure you check your level and fill to the proper level after it's equalized.

Hey guys, i replaced my water pump and thermostat today, but truck is overheating and the lower rad hose is cold to touch while upper hose is very firm and HOT! overheating. I have been trying to squeeze the upper hose to release the pressure but to no avail. Any ideas would be great! I have replaced the rad. in the past and had no issues with trapped air so i think i the bubble has to be near the pump.?

Just put my Jet 180* in yesterday; we alternate;y squeezed the upper and lower rad hoses (top, bottom, top, bottom..)
Got all but about a half quart of the coolant back in, and I wanted to throw a bottle of water wetter in anyway, so perfect. Ran at 185, saw 188 in bumper to bumper traffic. Truck is much peppier when at full temps; feels like driving in nice cool morning air all the time now. VERY happy with this mod!!!

I did the 180t and refilled the radiator the next morning when the moto cold, is this the righ way? I tried to take the radiator cap with the truck running at normal operating temperature and had an explosion of hot radiator fluid bust from the system. Thankfully I was using a old tshirt and dident get burned. Did I over fill the coolant system?

^Yes, it was good that you waited until the engine was cold to add fluid.
No, you just did a general no-no in pulling the cap. The coolant fluid expands as it gets hot, and the system is under pressure. Never open a rad cap on a vehicle at running temp.
