Default Crew Cab Sport NEW MODS!

I finally got some of my mod list taken care of, getting down to the short rows now!

I installed the ground force 2" rear lowering kit...

No more factory rake and the ride is 10 times smoother! The rubber cushion that came with the kit was about 5 times thicker than the factory one and the difference in ride is very noticeable. Good thick springs too.
Give it several days to settle for final height, I lost another 3/8" after install when it settled. now I'm 36-1/2" in the rear and 36" in the front!

I also got some caliper covers,
Here is the back...

and the front has the Dodge logo...

I waited for awhile because I really didn't want the "mgp" logo on the side of these. They now offer this option for the Dodge logo/Rams head logo for only a $30 upcharge.
They are very good quality and super easy to install.

If you have the 20" wheels like mine you won't even have to take them off to install. there is enough space inside the rim (between the rim and the rotor) to put these in and then shift them into place on the calipers.

CarID was really good to work with as well, they took my info and placed the order for me. Custom color and logos etc. Lead time was only about 2 weeks, pretty good for custom work.

I also got some custom badges,
These from billet badges...

and these from an ebay seller that goes by "copper genius"...

Both are excellent quality - although billet badges can no longer make badges with any crhysler trademarked logo's (not even the word Hemi if you can believe that) so you would need to look elsewhere for those.

I have trimmed my dash/sterring wheel with 3M Dinoc Black Carbon Fiber...

The top of the console was a real challenge, it took several attempts to get this right. If you are going to try and tackle this one do yourself a favor and get a heat gun. I got a variable temp porter cable for $40 and it was worth every penny.
Also note, to pry out the steering wheel trim pieces remove the horn fuses first or you will wake up the neighborhood!

And finally I was able to pull the trigger on a Bakflip F1 tonneau...

This is a great top, it sits flush with your bed rails and looks incredible.
Best of all I can use the entire bed and no more Vinyl top flappng in the breeze!
This top has an issue with the grain of the 3 panels not matching each other but Bak customer service has really been great about trying to make this right. Fingers crossed!

I also added a lower grille to cover that ugly plastic piece, this one is from paramount restyling.
Half the price of their competitor and better quality (from what I've read)

Next up K&N CAI (77 I think, with the chrome pipe) and an 18" Magnaflow.
Then hi temp paint for the Engine cover and I think I will be ready for the car show!

What was the part number on your lower grill? Also how good of a match is it to the stock grilles? When you put on your hood stripes did you do it your self or what? I want some black ones but I have no idea how to get them put on right.

Here is the thread that I used to track this down... http://www.ramforumz.com/showthread....t=lower+grille

Props to Never Satisfied for being the first to jump in! (and doing a great write up)

And the stripes, there are how to videos on youtube that will make it look super easy.
Problem is, the guys that are showing you "how to" have done it a thousand times and you have one shot.

I tried once and wound up with some pretty nasty bubbles, tried to slide the out the them edge and finished with a horrible wrinkle!

Bought another set and took them to one of the shops that do vehicle wraps.
You know, like when you see a car completely covered in a big one piece advertising vinyl.
The one I went to was a chain called sign-a-rama if you have of of those nearby.

They put them on for $60 or so if I remember correctly.
Only took them a little over an hour.

Check out elitelimit.com for vinyl and the search on ebay too, the same guy has an even bigger selection on ebay than he does on his webpage.

Truck looks great man. Got any pics of the engine bay? How is the quality of the dash trim pieces? I have been thinking of doing the trim on mine but haven't wanted to yet cause I don't want it falling off because it got to warm or to cold and the adhesive went to crap ya know.

Love the hood stripes. Love how they extend all the way down
Love the Flame Red! I'm kicking myself for not going that route

Question....you only bought 2" lowering for the back and left the front as is?
If so, I like this look much better than the blistein 5100 to raise and level the front....

Great job

I love the Carbon fiber interior pieces. I found a local supplier of the Dinoc, but have a question. It comes in 48" width. How much did you need to do the whole interior like that? The local guy sells it only by the yard. Just wondering if one yard would do it or 2?

Thanks...great looking truck!

The engine bay is still all stock, that is the next thing I need to address.

I will be installing the K&N cold air intake and painting the engine cover in the near future.
Still have some research to do on how to deal with the hi temps with painting that piece.

The Dinoc will never fall off, that stuff is in forever. (or until you want to take it off)
It is tricky to get it done correctly though, and it did take a few attempts in some places.
It will always want to return to its original state when heated so you need to fatigue in it some places. But stretch it too much and it messes up the pattern.
It will frustrate you if you do this but it is well worth the time. Inexpensive too.

exactly. I considered bringing the front up 2", but then I would need bigger tires.

Not to mention that isn't really the look I was going for on this truck.

Alot of guys have cut their coils and achieved the same appearance, but the ride quality really suffers when you do that.

It took a lot of searching but I managed to find the 2" lowering kit on the shelf at autoplicity.com.
Otherwise it was a 6 week lead time from the manufacturer.

Had it professional installed for only $100!

It cost me almost $500 total to drop the rear end that 2", but it looks (and rides) so much better that I think it was worth it.
