Default Stock 6.4 Cam/Cam Phase Limiter

Well i think i just found the next big mod for you 09-10 guys take a look at this.

http://www.trademotion.com/parts/201...20%26%20TIMING

At $57 for a stock 6.4 cam and $100 for a compcams phase limiter this thing could easily make 50hp with a good tune. There will be no more piston to valve clearance issues!!! This is a no brainer mod guys!

What is the lift on it? MAKE SURE YOU DO A BEFORE AND AFTER DYNO!!! That will tell the whole story!

no idea what duration is at .50 lift and its not just as simple as doing the math......thats where the voodoo is.....

09+ truck 5.7 with mds

total duration
intake 268....opens@28.2*/closes@239.8*

I've looked into this after reading this post and have found some interesting facts.

1. The 6.4 uses different lifters (probably to handle the increased lift and still function with the MDS). $97 X 4 (sold in sets of four- 2 front and 2 rear).

2. The springs are different. Again, probably for the increased lift. The retainers and locks are the same but I don't know if the seats are different. Around $180

3. solenoids for MDS are the same

4. pushrods and rockers are the same which makes me think that the valves are the same height unless the 6.4 has a different deck height.

Seems like it's going to be a lot more then the $150 cam swap I did with a ZR1 cam in my SS Camaro but the gains will probably be alot more then the 20hp I gained as well. Too bad I can't tune my 2011 to be able to perform this swap .
