Default Fastman Throttle Body

I was wondering how many of you guys have installed the upgraded throttle bodies? I was thinkinng of getting one but I am just not sure if it worth the money. I have the K&N Air intake and magnaflow exhaust and he says that i will see a difference. But I wanted to ask you all what you guys think before I buy one. I am also wanting to buy the programmer...My buddy says not get the throttle body and get the programmer. Let me know what you guys think about the throttle body...Thanks

I think its a good upgrade over stock,
but you'll see much better results with a Diablosport tuner.

If given a choice Tuner first.

But Both is even better!

Dan does do nice work, smooths and opens up the face with a taper bore, removes the half shaft on the front face of the butterfly plate for smoother flow at WOT

Stock vs modified

i also would be interested in this. on the 5.7 our stock throttle body is what 80mm? so with mild mods.... cai, exhaust, programmer..... i would think we could upgrade to 85mm safely right?

I have read on this before and i heard 90mm is too big unless you got turbos or supercharger.

The standard mod for $212 is all you need.

It's a taper bore from 85mm down to the stock 80mm opening at the plate.

For $150 more you can up it to a full 84mm bore with a new larger butterfly, but Dan said its only for someone with Forced induction or cam/big valve heads.

the fastman is a nice addition but like others mentioned I'd go programmer first then t/b.

I would also recommend the programmer first because if you keep adding more air without tuning for it you will run into a lean condition and that can make things go bad in a hurry.

I'm of a personal opinion that 'ported' throttle bodies are a waste of money because it doesn't increase the volumetric flow rate since it's still the same stock butterfly valve. At lease fastman carves out most of the center shaft and tapers the bore to the stock 80mm, and this will marginally help with increasing flow velocity, but until you replace the butterfly valve with a larger diameter on then you're not going to be getting much for performance gains. I wouldn't upgrade any throttlebody until you have enough supporting mods to justify the upgrade, and I'm talking a short ram intake, headers, and possibly a cam because the stock tb can flow impressive numbers as it is.
