The small dent in the back of my truck (which no one notices and I'm not pointing out) came from having my first truck for only 2 weeks and being a dumbass. Backing up, not watching my rearview camera and ignoring the weird beeping noises... I kicked my own ass for that one. But have since learned from my mistakes. Funny how those little things like Rear view cameras and back up sensors are there for a reason...

I went from a VERY small car to a full size truck. I expected to back into something while I was learning how to maneuver it. Learning has occurred.

I dont use my truck under working conditions but when I do its only to load and unload small stuff or help my friends move there refrigerator. The one time I did load a safe and did not strap it to the bed like a dummy so as soon as I drove out into the street the safe slides back and hits my tailgate and denting the gate. The dent is sticking out and the gate is sorta not sitting right but it still closes. I think these tailgates are pretty sturdy.

3 dents in the rear of my Ram, 1 small on near the center of the bumper (bought it used, already there), one softball-sized one in the drivers side corner of the rear bumper (hit and run-gym parking lot), and one about the size of a quarter on the drivers side of my tailgate (outside) at the top--That one came from a damn tree. This tree was no bigger than a sapling. I didn't even hit the tree, I hit one of the branches. I was backing into a spot at applebees and it just rubbed against my tailgate. I got out and was like WTF? This tree was no bigger around than a pencil, and it did THAT? O_O.

EDIT, also there is a good scuff on the top of my tailgate where it curves. I was helping a buddy of mine move, I backed up to the stairs so we could load his heavy ass german made furniture into my truck with a dolly. I backed all the way up so I was level with the porch (stairs under the tailgate). When I lowered the tailgate, it was BARELY touching the salt/ice covered concrete steps, and I didn't know it. We spent the next hour walking on it, digging the concrete into my tailgate paint. It held up suprisingly well, and I was able to buff out the majority of it.

Knock on wood, no dents in my tailgate, a couple scuffs in the spoiler and some scratches on the inside of the gate from when I moved some furniture to a friend's house and the person helping me load it didn't get the concept of up and OVER the tailgate lol! Yeah, it is a truck but I'm not ready for the character marks to really begin!

on all my tail gates, the dents were caused by some idiot not paying attention to something while opening or closing. that idiot is usually me.

My bumper took a hit in a parking lot and now i notice that when i put my tailgate down it is scratching the paint so it must have pushed it up. Does anyone know if it can be adjusted to come down any so it is not touching the tailgate.
