Default Is this all it will do?

I went to the track last night in my 12 express rcsb and was kinda disappointed with it. The main problem was low end, 60 ft times were 2.30s with 1/8 mile being 9.71(best of the night). I tried all sorts of combos launching but all of them worked about the same, it felt like i was pulling an aircraft carrier behind me for about 80 feet. After it finally kicked in, it pulled nice to the end... anyone have any suggestions on how to get out of the hole quicker? btw, i have 3.55s right now but they are about to be replaced with 4.10s

With a 60' like that I'd guess you were spinning out the hole. Tell us more about your launch technique.

What was your DA?

This will help......http://www.dragtimes.com/da-density-...calculator.php

well i tried stalling up, tried a dead stomp with no stalling, tried rolling into it steadily, traction control off, tow mode on, and the other way around.. still couldnt get it out of the hole.. the truck never slipped a tire... DA is 2069 ft..relative density 94.04%

That DA is your enemy. I might catch some flack for this, but I like to see what my time is corrected so I can compare apples to apples after installing mods.

My guess is either you were spinning off the line or torque management pulled timing on you and reduced the available torque.

Did you drive through the water box or go around it? I'm not asking to offend you, just trying to understand your process. I personally prefer to apply the brake and take revs up to slightly above idle to put a little tension on the drivtrain, then quickly press the gas as you let your foot off the brake. You'll probably hear several different variations of this.

Don't be afraid to play around with your tire pressure too. I like to keep lowering until the truck runs slower. In my other Ram the sweet spot for me was 25 psi, but that with lots of trial and error and practicing.

i avoided the water completely..i had the window down and could actually hear the tires sticking so i know it wasnt tire spin..had to have been tm pulling timing to kill it that bad out of the hole..if i could get it to pull the first 80ft like it does top end i think it would be pretty quick

The problem is your 3.55s. That is it end of discussion, also the the trq management bs these trucks need a tuner to get rid of, BUT your problem is 3.55s. These trucks are DOGS out of the whole with 3.55s. They come with the 3.92 package as well, but if you chose your truck off the lot and didnt ask or know of that there is your problem. I also have 3.55s in my CC Lone Star 12'. BUT I chose those as it was the cheaper option and within a couple months I would be dumping 4.10s in there.

Anyways, again your problem is the gear ratio, 3.55s are very, very, very hard to spin. They wont from a strait dog, and even if you are launching at 2k they wont even churp. The 3.92s put the 3.55s to shame that's for sure.

That 9.48 doesn't sound outrageous. It's not the fastest I've seen , but not the slowest either.

I have to agree those 3.55's are not helping, but search around here and compare your combo to others with similar configurations to see.

It wouldn't hurt to put it on a scale and get a baseline.

the lot i got it from couldnt find the combo i was wanting with with 3.92 gears, thats why i had to settle for the 3.55s.. BUT, that is also how i got the 4.10s.. they agreed to throw in a set for free to close the deal, i just havent had time to install them yet..im hoping you are right and it will come to life with the steeper gears

I would say that will be a pretty dramatic change.....your torque multiplication will go up quite a bit.

Let us know how it goes. With my best guess, I think you'll see a reduction in your time of roughly 0.275, which is pretty good.
