Hey everyone, I went to San Diego on 06/06/06 (good day to go right?), Fort Sill (0844), then Oki for 2 years, Lejeune, Afghanistan, went reserve as an 1812 (Tanks). Just traded in my Subaru STi and got my Ram a few days ago, excited for the change to trucks.

OORAH my fellow Jarheads. Just finished up last summer after 25 years. Retires as a O-4 from Oki, both Camp Foster / Schwab. Started life a butter bar at Pendleton with crash fire. 29 stumps, Cherry point, a few visits to the kitty litter box, along with a few to the gravel pit as well. Finished up in Recon 2/1. Its nice to see other misguided children here.

It is great to have such superb company of other of Uncle Sam's Misguided Children! I landed at Parris Island the day President Carter was inaugurated (Jan 20 1977) - 1st Battalion, Co. A. Off to Defense Information School in Indianapolis - Public Affairs as my primary MOS & got to attend two runnings of the Indy 500. Spent my time in Norfolk & Guantanamo Bay - Ended my career as a recruiter (SSGT) in Albuquerque in 1988 (didn't retire, no disabilty, etc). Been in New Mexico ever since... & proud to run my USMC Vet Plate on my Ram!

Former Corporal of Marines here. I am a Hollywood Marine like both of my brothers. I did 3 years on Okinawa with the 3rd Mar Div. I did some time in Maryland with CBIRF. I've been on a few field trips. I loved it and I miss it.

Hollywood Marine here. Thank God I never had to crawl in mud and get eaten by sand flies. My fun filed 3 months were spent in sunny San Diego with nary a drop of rain. It was still not as fun as I had been lied to about prior to signing on the bottom line. We spent too much time back behind the warehouses and didn't have any I got hurt chits. We started with 87 and ended up with 56.

I was the last unit to go through boot 7/10/73 to 10/10/73 with an M14 including rifle range. Then they gave us M16A1's, imho a most worthless POS. Great hose, no good at reaching out and touching anyone however... I started as 0844 and ended 0848, (A battery 1/10 2nd Mar Div) firing 105's with 1945 to 1954 production dates on them in Jville and actually spent most of my time as FO naval gunfire liaison, 2 Carib cruises and one Med cruise. I hated the boards (likely don't have em anymore). And look up FADAC you arty chumps. That was high tech early 70's. They made excellent places to put your coffee on. "Party with Arty". I wonder if they are still sending newbies the mile back to Admin to fill out eye D ten T forms. Spell it out.

"After a fun filled 3 month retreat on beautiful Parris Island"
