Default The build up of Bernadette 2014 Eco

So I hope this is the right place to document my build. This is my very first new vehicle in my life not to mention my first Dodge truck. I think I picked a good one for my firsts.

Here is my girl the day she arrived at the dealer. Looks pretty plain at first glance but under that is a smoking hottie, hence the name Bernadette (Big Bang Theory) ;-)

here she is arriving the same day at the tire/wheel shop

When I picked her up at the dealer with the front windows tinted to 20% to match the back.

Had 22 miles on her when she was unloaded

Thanks! I was really happy at how it turned out. Absolutely 0 rub at full lock either way. No trimming and plenty of room.

For a first truck it's way more than nice! It's superb! The Rockstar looks WAY better than the generic factory wheels.

This is a CC but with the 6'4" bed, isn't it? This is what I ordered too.

Visually, the CC feels better proportioned with the 6'4" bed rather than the short one and your side picture shows this well. And the added cargo bed space is nice too, especially with Ramboxes. Only drawback is maneuvering in crazy tight parking lots...

So Bernadette is a Tradesman edition so no real frills. She came equipped with the cubby up here instead of the extra glovebox like the more equipped packages. Well I didn't like that so I took a trip to my local wrecking yard and got some parts for $50.

This cubby simply pulls out with some persuation. Be gentle but firm and it will pop out. The factory wiring for the light sits to the left in the hole.

Install the glove box door first, held in by 4 bolts and don't forget the latch catch. Then plug in the light and pop the new cubby back in.

I did notice a slight shade difference between the grays. Black would likely have looked just as good since the outer dash trim is black but I think its fine. No one that has been in my truck has noticed the difference.

Thank you. You are correct. CC with 6.4' bed. I also did not like the looks of the 5' bed nor the short space. Everything came together for the 2014 model year that I was looking for. CC, 6.4' bed, rambox, boxes and tailgate locking/unlocking with keyfob, EcoDiesel!!!

Here's a great use for that little spot at the top of the dash. Replace every few weeks for a nice fresh coffee smell. Helps cover that off gassing smell of the plastic and cloth people call "new car smell" which I can't stand.
