I have seen a couple guys make an overhead console out of MDF, carpet it with matching headliner material and attach it to their roof. I'm not quite sure how. Might have to do some engineering to figure that out. Or, they used to sell those shelves that mounted right below the headliner. I think JCWhitney sold them for awhile. If you made it yourself though, you could configure it any way you like.

The easiest way I can think of mounting the CB to the headliner is to use a piece of flatbar, mounted to the sunvisor mounting brackets. Make sure it's not just mounted to the plastic, use the actual screws.

you could mount it under the seat and use an external speaker it is smaller and easier to hide/mount. This is how I am going to do mine anyway.
