Default V-6 Lover

It has been my observation and opinion that the vast majority of pickup owners use their trucks for basic everyday transportation and occasional hauling of garden supplies or the like. My 3.7L V-6 Ram is used for just these same purposes and Iíve never had a performance issue. Actually, I canít remember of any such time that I needed more power. Even if I had the all powerful Hemi, Iíd never use or need itís awesome power. While I donít know the 0-60 abilities of either my 3.7 nor the Hemi, I donít care since what I have more than meets all of my needs. For those who are always looking for ways to modify their 3.7ís for more power, Iíd have to ask why? Do you really it in the first place, and if so, why didnít you go with the Hemi to begin with. I would suspect that the cost many of you V-6 owners have incurred to modify your Rams comes close to the price difference between the two engines. My advice for any 3.7 owner thinking about modifications, just forget it and enjoy what you have. Whatever your reasons were for choosing the 3.7 originally are still valid and you made a good choice. Of course if you are one whoís circumstances have changed, such has buying a big boat or work needs now necessitate more power, then by all means, just consider trading for a Hemi and forget the mods.

I'll agree with that ^^^^ to a certain extent as in, my 3.7 is plenty enough for what I need and how I use my truck. I do think, though, no matter what engine one has in their Ram, HEMI or not, most folks will do what they can to squeeze as much out of it as they can be it mods for fuel mileage or mods for performance. My motor is stock and I intend to keep it that way. I bought my last truck for a project and this one to enjoy lol. Had to play devil's advocate but won't be long before the 5.7 owners are going to be jumping on the 6.4 HEMI! It's kind of like a dog on a leash, the leash is ALWAYS 1 inch too short!

I have a 2010 with the 3.7. Yes I got if for financial reasons and honestly like I said in the introduction forum, I love it, I tow nothing and haul very little, just some tools and camping gear when we go. its my every day driver, taking the dogs hiking, stuff like that. Basicly it fits my lifestyle and does everything I need it to do. Even had a couple of bikes in the back a few times.

Kinda gutless when punching it, but other than that it cruises just fine anywhere I go. Rides like a car man. I have no mods and am not sure if I ever will except for maybe cosmetic stuff. Kinda like what I lack in go Ill try to make up in Show. Anyway, I love it and am just gonna drive the hell outta it and take care of it so it will last a good while.

Sendin' out the Love to all the V-6ers out there! Got my '08 SXT w/auto and tow package about about 2wks ago. Last owner was pretty good with it and to date I have been detailing it. Can't say yet what I'm going to do about Mods but that's a different subject.
I haven't seen anyone list another SXT. Is there something different about them? I got the 3.7 not so much for the money I saved or the gas economy but because it looked better than anything else out there. I will be towing a small travel trailer when I get that a little later. Maybe that is a problem with a small-engine truck but hey they make things out there to fit the bill so-to-speak.
I'm from the Challenger side of the Forum. I have my Hemi R/T Classic. My Wife loves this Truck as much as the R/T. At 33K+ miles on it this truck still feels like it has some grunt.
Believe me when I start really using this truck the way I think I will I will be sure to post up a lot about handling and performance.
One thing for sure It Don't Ride Like Car It's A Truck! Enjoy The Journey! Lou.

Hi, the SXT is basically an appearance package (that includes chrome bumpers, grill, and door chrome moldings) the truck starts out as an ST a base model, I have a 2014 SXT, Pentastar V6 3.6 liter with the 8 speed transmission 4X4, Bluetooth, backup camera and trailer tow package, with the 3.55 axle it can tow 7,200 lbs. I have all I need and the price was reasonable and like you said it looks nice.

Thanks! Been researching a lot and I am amazed at the upgrades the new Pentastar has to offer! Thanks for the input about the SXT. I did finally find out about it a little earlier.
The Wife and I have found several Ultra-Lites that fall into our towing capacity.
Amazing at how we are limited to 3800 GVWR! Ram has come a long way!
Enjoy the Journey! Lou.
