Default Dead battery

14 months old, 6000 miles. Truck had not been cranked for about 5 days. Battery so dead it would not read on a meter. It would hold the key in the switch tho. Dealer charged it but it wouldn't pass a load test. Also checked for drain. Hope this is not a sign of things to come.

It could be just a bad battery, it does happen
I would lean more to a system drain somewhere

A Dodge Tech once typed on here;
The Dodge charging system is set up to replace the surface charge
It will not replace the DEEP charge
You need a outside source, a battery charger of some sort, to do that

Many people are now buying a Solar Powered dashboard mat type charger, for vehicles that are not used as a daily driver

Default same battery problem

Today mine was dead. Just drove it yesterday, parked it last night nothing was on. Lights and everything come on just not enough power to crank the engine. Only 5200 miles and a dead battery.

Hey guys, I had the same problem about 6 weeks ago. I went out on a Saturday and it was so dead, the keyfob wouldn't work to unlock the doors. No dome lites, nothing. It was only sitting since Thursday. I immediately called the dealer as they are open on Saturdays. They had told me the service department had closed 15 minutes prior to my phone call, but said they would be right over to jump start it, or would bring a truck if I needed one for the weekend. (I have a great relationshiop with my dealer) I declined both, and put the truck on a charger for about an hour then jumped it with the wifes van. I ran it for about twenty minutes and 10 miles. I have not had a problem since.

After the weekend, I called the service dept and talked to the service manager. He told me there are about 12 modules in the truck that "go to sleep" when the truck is off. He said it was quite possible that one did not go to sleep and drained the battery. The truck will be one year old this coming Monday with 3300 miles. It sits alot, but I never before, nor since, have had a problem with it. He also said trying to find that module that is acting up is frustrating because it is intermittent and not happening all the time.

Default dead battery

mine did the same thing with 2500 miles and i charged the battery and took it in they found i believe the tpm module was bad and caused the battery to go dead overnight vmake sure you bring both keys in as they have to do a reprogram on each key so the new tpm will reconize them

My dealer has had several new vehicles have their batterys go dead, due to bad cells. The only way is to load test them, if it fails replace it, otherwise charge it. I store my Ram in the Summer and my Super Bee in the winter and I alway connect them to a trickle charger when I put them in storage. So far no problems.

Good reminder, thanks. My truck sits quite a bit.

So there is a solar pad you can put on the dash and charge through the 12v outlet? It is ok to reverse flow through that outlet and it will charge the battery like a trickle charger?
