Default CB Radio questions

I searched and found nothing, I have a '10 and I want to put a CB radio in it. I've pretty much decided on the CObra 29 LX, but I have a few questions. I want the get this antenna mount, and I was thinking about going with this all in one kit I'm not sure where I would run the antenna wire into the cab from, and I don't know where/how to mount the cb in the cab.

Help me out guys!

I have a 09 ram 1500 and here's what I did to my truck. The CB is mounted to the bottom of the cup holder about an inch below the handle so its still functional (you can raise and lower it whenever you want). I took a knife and cut a small slit in the carpet below the CB to run the antenna wires. As far as running the antenna wires into the cab, this is the biggest problem. In our trucks the back seat does not fold down, it only folds up, so there is no way to run the wires between the bed and the back of the cab. What I did is pull up the carpet in the back seat and take a drill bit to drill a hole in the floor (yes crazy I know just hear me out). Now you can run the antenna wire under the truck and into the cab. Then take the wire and run it underneath the floor panels next to the door and under the carpet in the front of the cab directly to the slit in the carpet you cut under the CB. Then just push the wire through the slit in the carpet and connect to your CB. As for the holes you drilled in the floor, just take some JB weld, cover them up, and you won't have to worry about any leaks what so ever. I added a few pictures of what I did to my truck. Hope this helps. If you have any additional questions feel free to ask and I'll try to help.

I see you secured your antenna to your tool box... Did you also add a ground wire to ground out your tool box?

I would use this type of antenna mount
http://www.rightchannelradios.com/ca...53/image/1093/

Ground the bed to the frame & the cab body, or at least the cab body, that will help you get a bit better reception.
The slit in the carpet & run the cable along the passenger side door(s) is the standard way that it is done.

I have a CB in my '09, it is required by law in my business
I bit the bullet & mounted the antenna in my cabs roof, i couldn't watch it being done, but i am glad that it was done.
I have the full floor console & my radio is mounted inside of it with a auxiliary fan blowing onto the heat sinks for better cooling.
My power wire goes to the battery, through a fuse

No. I don't think it really makes a difference.
