I never rode until I was ~18. First ride was awful, I'm amazed I didn't drop the bike. Then I took the class to get the license and quickly got used to it. I bought my first bike and had it a few years. Then came across this buell at a steal of a price, bought it, and sold my old bike. I love this buell, probably won't ever get another bike. Although the new EBR bikes are pretty slick...
Nice

I'm currently in the market for a XB12s Lightning. Found an 05 I might go look at this coming weekend. I rode a 2010 Xb12r Firebolt I guess about a year ago and wasn't impressed at all. I'm used to riding Japanese I4's and V4's so the power delivery of this bike felt very odd to me. But I recently came across the Lightning and fell in love with it. I just like how they're chopped and look so small. I would like to get one to commute on so I can keep the miles on my Ram down.

I've been riding bikes since I was a child and now race them. Here's a couple of pics of my current stable.

My 2010 Aprilia RSV4R race bike:

My 1997 XR400R Motard: I just finished building this bike a week ago and this is more fun than anybody should have on 2wheels

My 2008 Yamaha R6 race bike:

Didn't mean to thread jack. I'll add myself to the list. My bday is 8/20 and I could use some tinted windows as a bday gift to myself. Any other Sagebrushes gonna be there or am I the only one?

If you didn't like the firebolt you won't like the lightning. The appearance is slightly different(fairing and tail), the riding position is slightly different(seat and bars) but other than that they are literally identical bikes.

Personally, after having this bike I can't stand to ride an I4, at least on the street. This bike would suck on a track.

See I think we are thinking just the opposite. When I rode the Firebolt it was with the intent of trying it on the track so that is why I wasn't impressed. And truthfuly the motor is the only part I wasn't excited about. I think the bikes look awesome. Now that I am looking for something simply to commute on I think the upright seat/bar position of the lightning will suit me perfect and I'll be happy with the bike overall. If not I'll sell it and try something else. A bike usually doesn't last more than a year at my place. I get bored with them and have to have something else. It drives my wife crazy

And how is the tint going to work? Do we just inquire about it when we get there or should we call in advance and setup an appointment?

jgos, be sure and call Sunray soon to schedule your appointment for the 18th of August. They are closing shop so the only people in the shop that day will be RamFest Attendees!

I think that i am going to talk to the people at Sunray
To see if they can come up with something to cover the area between the sun visor & the door pillar
The early morning sun, as well as the sun when setting makes me hold my head in an unnatural position
I know that i am not the only person that it affects

My wife just got a call from Shawn at Sunray (Butch/Sue's Oldest Son), I would like to just reiterate that if you want tint done, please call and make an appt for the day of the meet.

You mean like a sun strip? At the top of the windshield?

I have a 6" one in 5% and it's a total lifesaver
