Question 6" Lift kit

Hey guys, I ve got a few questions to ask about next major upgrade. I have a 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT 2WD, and im thinking about jackin it up. I want a 6" Rough Country Suspension Lift Kit, 35" Nitto Terra Grapplers with 18" XD Rockstar Black rims, and Bushwacker Pocket Style fender flares. My guy says he can buy and install everything for $5000. My question is if thats a good deal and if not, what is? Also, is there any problems that i should be watching out for from this set-up? And is it worth doing the all of this or should i just do a leveling kit and 33" tires?

I dont know where your from but it seems a little steep to me. That would be about $4500 installed in my area at the local smaller shops that work with pricing etc

If you go with 35s, it will put more stress on your gears, and personally, I like 33s for 18s, 35s are just too much tire on 18s for me. Just my $0.02 though.

It seems about right, of course it all depends on location, would say anywhere between $4500 and $5500 for that setup depending on where you are located and where you are getting it installed.

I've herd to stay away from the RC lifts as there entry level systems. Go toward skyjacker or better quality. Im looking into doing a similar set up.

If you decide to put the 6" lift with 35's on it you are definitely going to want to think about regearing it. A close friend of mine blew out his rear diff because he was running the stock ratio on his '96 and put on a 5.5" lift and 35's. Also we did the Fabtech lift ourselves. Granted it is easier on a '96 than an '02 but it really wasn't bad. We started with the rear end on Friday after work and finished it by about 10:00 then started the front end the next morning and finished it at the end of the day. I would suggest just going with the leveling kit and 33's.
Yes, lifting it will make it look awesome, but if it is more for riding offroad, it isn't worth 5 grand. I would suggest the leveling kit, replacing your shocks with either Pro Comp ES9000's or Rancho RS9000XL's (Even though I know everyone on here loves the Bilstein 5100's). And then possibly do an add-a-leaf. You will definitely notice a huge difference in ride quality. And then pay for a more aggressive tire than the Terra Grappler. I would personally suggest the Trail Grappler. It's got a lot better traction on mud than the Terra. If it is for looks and ride quality, not for muddin' then I would go with the BFG A/T's.
On a final note, if you do lift it, I wouldn't suggest Rough Country or Tuff Country. The lift is definitely something you don't want to skimp on. Pro Comp probably has the best lift for your money out there right now. Your truck is gonna look great either way, just figured I'd throw in my 4 cents.
