Default which wounds better, foxbox 12" sealed or 12" vented

I was looking at the foxboxes, and saw that the 12" vented is 1.5cft per side, tuned at 35hz.
That fits so many subs needs, and I have always thought that ported enclosures are louder at lower power than sealed. Just wondering if anyone has both of these in similar trucks, which sounds better?
I am currently working on a custom built sealed enclosure, but I know I need to upgrade my amp soon. I have a RF Punch P500-2, birth sheet shows 769 watts RMS. I am running two RE SRX 12's.
Just want to know if, for 175.00 plus 35.00 shipping, I could have a foxbox that is ported and tuned to 35hz.

Any input is appreciated.

Is there anyone in the west Ga or atlanta area ( I live in Temple/Carrollton/Dallas area ) that has a Foxbox dual 12" ported or sealed currently that would allow me to hear how the enclosure and whatever subs you may have installed sounds like?
If so, pls P.M. me or email me at charles_g@comcast.net

Thanks

I have the ported box and love it. The 12" type r subs are very impressive in that box.

Simple to me, if your current setup isn't loud enough for you then go with the ported box. The sealed won't ever carry along the boom with the acoustics inside of the truck. In hindsight I would go ported with box directly exposed to pressure inside the truck. Mine hits way harder when you drop the window down so it can move the air.

I have 2 type R 12's in a ported fox box and it slams pretty hard. It's by far the loudest system I have heard around here that is capable of keeping the back seats. My review mirror is completely useless and my outside mirrors are as well lol. If you were in Texas I would let you listen for sure. I went with the PdX-M12 and it pushes them nicely. Although the "Big 3" is a must.

Ghost, where are you in Texas? I've wanted to hear how the Fox/Type R combo sounds.

Ported will be louder when all variables are close to eachother simply because of the way they get to move the air. Sealed setups handle more power because they help the cone from flexing as much because of the pressure behind them.

Stoney, your not the only one that notices the whole windows down = more bass thing becaue it effecticly turns your truck into a bandbass style enclose with the cab being the larger section.

Yea, I know this is common with small vehicles. This just happened to be my first sealed box truck install my previous was ported and while it was a difference with window, it's not nearly the difference with this one. If I had enough room in this box I would turn it ported, but port would kill internal volume. Guess I could always do an external port More on that when the car system is complete.
