^I agree. Car washes also wear the paint down.

I do see that the OP I believe said he's handicapped so maybe he's not able to wash the truck himself though...?

i was feeling kind of lazy this saturday but wanted the truck clean... took it to the car wash where i have taken my mustang in the past. Remember first full day with the new rims 22x10s with 305s on them this guy swings around the corned and puts the tire on the rail that is supposed to guide the car through instead of putting it in reverse and trying again he drives forward and shaked the wheel until the tire is where it is supposed to be... as he gets out the wheel is still not straight andthe car starts going through as i see the tire rubbing on the rail... i walked into the car wash got in my truck straightened the wheel walked to the cashier and got my money back. they tried giving me vouchers for free car washes like i would ever want to go back the manager came out and asked me what the problem was and i told him to wait till the truck came through and i will show him. just as i thought i was over reacting another guy was behind me demanding to get his money back too. he saw what they did to my truck and told them to get his out of line and he will take in somewhere else... when my car came through he offered me a tank of gas not knowing that i was on E so of course i accepted it and it kind of made me happy when it came out to 97 dollars and to see the look on his face when his employee just costed him over 100 dollars between my gas my car wash fee and the other guy that was behind me. now everytime i look at my 3 month old truck with its 1 week old rims all i see is that gash.

Anytime you relinquish control of your truck to a third party, be it at a carwash or a Jiffy Lub you are taking a chance. I know how easy it is, but there are other alternatives. A detailer can detail your truck or simply just wash it for you--not as fast or easy but at least you get a quality job without the worry. Most car washes have signs posted all over saying something like they are not responsible for any damage etc etc etc and unless you have a picture right before you enter the car wash and a picture right after your truck comes out, they are going to do exactly what they did to you---tell you that they didn't do it and you have to prove they did. A slezzy way to do business but not many will take responsibility for damage their equiptment causes. Good luck with your insurance company--I hope they help you out and cover the damage that was done. Sorry about your problems--
Jay

Yes, unfortunately I am handicapped and this monster is bigger and taller than my silverado was. My dad picked me up an extension brush today so Im going to try that out this week and see how I do. We're also gonna try buffing out some of the scratches. Wish me luck.

OOPS! I also called you a "he". Sorry lol.

Hopefully you're able to buff most of the scratches out. Do you have any pictures of the damage?

Happy belated mother's day too(now that I reread the original post and realize you are the mother lol).

Also, as much as it sucks and definitely not blaming you a lot of car washes have disclaimers saying they are not liable for any damage. I know the Shell's and BP's all have them out here. Just be on the lookout for those. Automated car washes will scratch your truck every time. it's usually the micro scratches you can't see. But every once in a while a pebble get's stuck in the bristles and your screwed. I got a scratch on the rear driver side quarter panel of my truck and a part of it isn't able to be buffed out. It hurts every time to look at it lol Sorry they stiffed you on it, and Happy Belated Mothers Day to you as well

Thanks for all the Mothers Day wishes! I really am kicking myself. This was our first time using the place. We were just cruisig by and my son asked if we could wash it. Should have just said no. I think hes madder than anyone since he knows the truck is his in 6 years.
