Seriously??? Is it really that big of a difference between flowmaster and magnaflow??? Does anybody have actual documented dyno runs showing that magnaflows make 10x more power than flowmaster? I really would be interested in seeing that data! As far as daily driving I've seen several trucks with magnaflow stickers on their back windows and I could not here their trucks running over mine! And they were not blowing my doors off either! Only noticed that "man his truck is quiet!". I would be interested in seeing if the performance between them is really any more than 1-2 hp. I'm not a hater, but I get tired of hearing that my exhaust sounds good but sucks on performance. If someone could show me that adding a magnaflow would add 50 hp and a flowmaster on the same truck took away 10 hp then heck yeah I'd switch!

i personally had flows then switched to maggy and yes i noticed a difference, but your right there is no way in hell itll add 50 hp...Sean on here is the one who posted the dyno sheet of the difference and maggy came out on top. of course flows are louder but id rather have a truck perform more than sound. never said it sucked on performance either so i hope that wasnt intended towards me, flows flow better than stock so thats a plus

edit: no matter what forum, whether dodge, ford, chevy, toyota, ive seen them ALL say maggy, so must be for some reason?

No that was not intended at you! Definitely not intended as snipey either. Just a general statement. I know people seem to love their Mags and that's fine with me.

Ok ok ok.... I'm crossing over! I called TES Performance and told them to switch the order from a Flowmaster Super 40 to the Magnaflow 14" SI/SO 3" part #14219.

I hope this thing peforms really well to make up for the tone that I am giving up. Any idea what this will sound like dumped?

Not sure what it will sound like dumped but that is the muffler I have exiting after the rear tire in the factory location. I like the idle tone...not too loud but noticeable over stock. When you get on the gas it gets pretty loud though

I don't like doin dynos, altho my best dynos were with magnaflows on (370/390)...but my track times immediately improved when I swapped the flows out for magnaflows..

and if you want loud..jus add cutouts to it...

I tell ya, it cracks me up when people actually think that loud equates to performance... almost everyone with an aftermarket muffler will be louder than me (I run a 22" mag..I love my peace and quiet incab and when towin...the loudness got old fast with a flow 50)... got a quick story, drivin to home depot, sittin at a light and I see a chevy pickup haulin ass to sit right next to me at the red...he had to have flows cuz he was loud and had that distinctive flow sound (again, to those who like, they think it actually sounds cool), he wanted to run an when the light turned green he jammed on it makin all sorts of loud noise, I was careful to just get on it enough so that we stayed even through intersection (again, all I could hear was him, not me), then I reached down, hit my cutout switch and put my foot on the floor..I pulled hard on him and then pulled into the home depot parking lot as he went straight, funny thing tho, as i get out of my truck and I'm walking to the entrance, i see him pull into parking lot and wave me down...he was actually cool and gave me props on kickin his butt, I respect him for that

if you like loud, dump it in front of axle...less loud and more muscular tone, dump it over axle..

does it really make a difference in sound if its dumped before or after the axle?

and fred is a perfect example of flows vs maggy. mine is dumped and i love the sound of it, i do wish sometimes it was louder, i may be adding a cut out. dont get me wrong tho, the 14 is loud but nowhere to flows or straight piped

glad you switched over to maggy! youlll love it and you BETTER post videos of it and let us know your experience with the 2 so when the next person is in the same dilemma, you can help!
