Default Which Trans?

Have an 08 RAM 1500 4x4 Quad Cab, 4.7 liter V8, 6 speed manual trans. Sounded like throw-out bearing was going a month ago, has gotten progressively worse, now metal on metal sound. Parked the truck until I can round up funds to have it fixed. From what I've seen there could be 6 different transmissions. I searched using the VIN but it doesn't tell me anything about the trans, only engine, 4x4, color, quad cab and where it was manufactured. How do I find out which trans is in it to order correct parts?
