Default What is the difference in these lifts

Whats the difference between the BDS and the Zone 6" lifts for the 2010 ram other than the price

Mainly warranty. They both achieve the lift the same way with a strut spacer and preload spacer for the front. They both use the same springs for the rear. Zones rear cross member is straight instead of arched like BDS and every other companies kit.....prolly less ground clearance. I think BDS also comes with stainless replacement brake-lines and such. BDS is more of a "full" kit if you will. I think thats about it!

I didn't like Zones rear cross member, that pushed me away. Another thing I didnt like about Zone and BDS is their skid plate: It sits about 3.5" lower than my RCX skid plate. The finally thing was that they use a 4.5" strut spacer and a 5/8" preload spacer for the front lift. So if you wanna do Bilstiens your adding to a 4.5" Suspension lift unlike My RCX kit which uses a 5.5" strut spacer or PC strut spacer that's a hair over 5" and Fabtechs 5" strut spacer.

Happy Lifting!

Thanks..... What are the preload spacers for?.... I like the zone/BDS lifts because they offer a 3" rear spring .... My truck had such a rake to it I did a 2 1/2 level kit and i couldn't use the rear 1 1/2 rear..... I'm looking to make it sit like a power wagon with 35x12.5 18 ..... I'm not going off road with this truck

They use the preload spacer to achieve an inch to inch and a half of your 6" suspension lift!

So if you preload the spring it makes the ride stiffer?..... And you said the other kits come with a 5 inch spacer so theses kits aren't a true 6" kit?

Correct. None of the kits offered for the 4th Gen Rams are a true 6" kit. The closest is RCX followed by PC then Fabtech then Zone/BDS.
