Default brake lights stay on constantly

I have a 2010 Ram 1500, bought it last year and it only has 41,000 miles. t The brakes lights stay on constantly unless I manually turn on my head lights. Had the brake light switch replaced ( twice ), that didn't do it, then the dealer replaced the TIPM because the diagnostics on it said it failed. That still didn't work, dealership then replaced some wiring because they said it had a short in a wire & everything was fine. Started driving truck home from dealership, got about a mile away smoke started pouring out of all vents, and I had flames shoot out from wiring from above by the brake pedal. Dealer has had my truck over a week now and still has no idea what is causing brake lights to stay on. Driving a Dodge Nitro now, but I want my truck back..... Any guesses to the problem

Wow, i never heard of any fairly new vehicle catching fire like that
unless a previous owner had done some mods

I seem to remember a mod that had something to do with grounding to the brakes
seems like it had something to do with the trailer brake controller, radio, or rear camera

When you get it back, turn on your heater & A/C to check for odors
Good Luck

There's an electrical problem with the wiring under the dash. That's what caused the fire. A new harness would likely fix it.

Default brake lights won't go off

My brake lights are staying on constantly. The Dodge dealership has replaced the brake switch, the TIPM, and has installed a whole new wire harness, and the lights still stay on. I am getting very frustrated that I don't have my truck back, it has been over a week and a half and the service dept. has no clue what to do. Any suggestions..

Move it to another dealer and don't pay for the expensive test parts. Have a good auto electrical company check things out.
