Default SharaDon 545RFE transmission cooler needed!

Not trying to bad mouth Sharadon Performance here so don't think I am i just needed a closer performance/ transmission shop. Long story short I'm waiting on the 18 wheeler to bring my truck back later this week from SharaDon Performance in Hugo, MN. It's been gone for about 5 months and I just spent roughly $2500 including shipping so I just wanna race without problem. I was told the trans temps hit around 200F after a test ride once the work was done and I should look into an aftermarket secondary transmission cooler because my Magnacharger's intercooler mounts in front of the stock one and is blocking air flow. I wanna be able to tow, drive around town and knock off high 12's in the quarter with this thing so this trans is gonna get used hard. Any good high performance truck/transmission shops around Hollywood, FL anyone can recommend to help me out or any good trans cooler options for my truck it's a 2010 1500 4x4 with and Edge torque converter that's supposed to have a 2800rpm stall.

Thanks!
Micah

Just find the biggest trans cooler you can and put a fan on it. B&M makes a pretty good trans cooler that a lot of the street strip drag guys use

Just got off the hone with magnuson and they said they are unaware of any trans cooler problems when there supercharger is installed. I remember the heat exchanger/intercooler appearing to have sone fins bent which could be blocking airflow and they suggested taking it to a radiator shop to see if it could be straightened out or replacing the unit for $418. I guess this would be a better first step before adding an extra trans cooler but still might do that too. I wonder how the stock electric fan gets told when to turn on and off. Based on coolent temps, A/C load, trans fluid temps, or oil temps? I was thinking of removing the mechanical fan but will probably leave it on with all these questions up in the air. Still looking for any recommendations for trusted radiator, transmission and or performance shops around Hollywood, FL. Thanks!

Try Torq in Mirimar. I'm sure they can handle a trans cooler with an electric fan set to come on at a set temp to save that expensive trans!

A bigger or secondary trans cooler with a fan is a great idea, but just FWIW 200 degrees is not crazy high, especially if it's peak temperatures. You could also invest in an aftermarket aluminum finned extra capacity transmission pan.

I'd have to look around but there is a thread here of guys installing the 3/4 ton trans cooler on their 1/2 tons...I think Fred did it too.

^Just FYI that wouldn't be a direct bolt on for the 4th gen like it is in the 3rd gen.

The 4th gen v8 1500 rams all have the same transmission cooler/AC condenser combo cooler. This includes 4.7L's, 5.7L's, RT's, Heavy duty models, etc.

I should have the truck back by 5-18-2012.
Step 1 will be test drive and data log with laptop. The Magnacharger came with a Diablo Sport tuner so it all has to be adjusted through a CMR tuner.
Step 2 find a good radiator shop to look at the fins on the heat exchanger/intercooler to try and straighten them out.
Step 3 (if step 2 fails) replace the intercooler
Step 4 Data log the trans temps again
Step 5 Look into getting an extra trans cooler installed if temps appear to high

Sound logical?

Thanks for all the info and I looked up Torq in Mirimar, FL. Found a website of gettorq.com and it looks real professional. I called them to late this evening but I'm going to check with them tomorrow to see if they have the CMR software to work on Diablo tuners and ask them there opinion on the trans cooler.
