Default Pics: 07 Dodge Ram new 6" Rough Country lift

Just got my truck back, took off the level blocks and installed a 6" Rough country suspension lift with a 3" body lift. Truck has 20" Moto Metal wheels, 38x15.5 Dick Cepek mt, KN cai, true dual super 44 flowmasters. Looking to buy pocket style fender flares but not sure if I should leave them black or paint them same color as truck.. any thoughts?

sorry about the picture quality, my phone isn't that great.

Truck looks great! and thats a tough call sometimes they look awesome black and then sometimes they look better color matched. I think it all depends on the flare. would you be ordering them and then getting them color matched, or would they come to you painted? If they come to you black then you can always just mock them up and see.

Whatever route you decide to take i would like to see pictures. I have been thinking about it for my truck but not to sure if my truck is big enough to really give it the aggressive look I am looking for.

thanks! Well the thing is if i order them they would come black but they come in two different surface styles, one is rough which i believe you can't paint over it and the other is smooth which is paintable. If i decide to go with black i would order the rough surface to give it an aggressive look to it but if i dont like it i'm screwed because i doubt any body/paint shop would even attempt to paint them.

i actually have the same doubt as you do, i see way bigger trucks with the flares on and i feel like mine is too small to look that good, but you never know until you try it i guess

haha yeah you should see if there is a custom truck shop around and see if they have the style you are looking for. That way you can see if you like it in black. I would hate getting stuck with something I don't like. I know there are some members that are very skilled with photoshop you could reach out to them and see if they could put together some pictures for you. Just an idea!

If your rims were black i think black flares would look good but since you got the moto metals id go with colormatch imo

truck look sick, im not a big fan of fender flares myself, but i think the only way they look good is painted to match the rest of the truck, the black that they come in makes em look cheap to me but that just my .02

If you order the rough flares, they absolutely can be painted. A good body and paint guy can paint nearly any surface...even glass, regardless of texture.
