Ram steering binding issues please help!!!
Hi all! I've got a weird steering problem on my 4x4 08 ram 2500 that I've seen others post about but have never seen answered. When stationary on dry pavement my steering gets hard to turn to the left; but no problems to the right. Will turn fine both directions in the dirt or on wet pavement. I can jack the front end up with the engine off and swing the front end full right to left by hand without any binding at all. I started out by changing the pump then pressure tested it when that didn't change anything (it's good), changed the gear box and shaft next to a sweet borgeson set up; again didn't change anything so I had borgeson check it just to make sure (it's good). Swapped fluid over to AMS oil; again no joy. Changed out the brake boost; brakes Respond a little better but no steering change. Changed out the pressure lines going from the pump to the boost and the one from the boost to the gear box; again no good. Changed out the whole tie rod, drag link and steering dampener set up; still nothing. The only things left that I haven't done is the ujoints and ball joints but there's just no binding whatsoever when I have the wheel off and tie rods unhooked that I just can't bear spending $2k more to try it. Took to the dealership and they gave up and said they'd just have to start shotgunning parts starting with my new borgeson gear box ( that I just had checked); at my expense of course whether it fixes it or not. Please help me guys. I've got to be missing some thing easy here...
