Default Looking to do custom turbo. need some advice.

Alright guys i have a 3rd gen 2007 MDS 5.7. Im looking to do a turbo NON STS!!! I want to do a custom one in the next few months. I need some advice on what kind of turbo to get. I plan on mounting it between the passenger and passenger rear door on the chassis. i already measured the piping. Do i need special exhaust pipes? should i wrap them? Also, what components am i missing here?

-Turbo
-intercooler
-External Wastegate
-BOV
-Oil feed from oil pan drain
-oil return to drilled hole in top of oil pan

what else do i need? Could anyone post some pics up of turbo rams? Thanks

you'll need to fab up the hot pipes, down pipe, and charge air piping. You'll need a custom intake, injectors, fuel pump and return, and tuning of course. Check out the pro charger intercooler, pretty sweet looking. Look into a PT88 charger.

I don't know what the 268 has for specs but yes there are blower grinds and n/a cam grinds. Comp may be able to help you but anyone who builds turbos should know also. Basically, you don't want too much overlap. Sorry I don't know where the cutoff is.

I don't know about the 268 either, but I would give a knowledgable cam guy like the guys at Inertia Motorsports a call and see what they'd say for a low-boost application in a 4x4. They came up with a nice cam for my N/A setup.

You will need a 2bar MAP sensor, but you won't need to do all the fab work of hot and downpipes if you're going remote mount, you'll just need to get an upturn and mounting flange welded to your current pipes (a new Y-pipe is a must), route your intake filter away from ground spray, and fab a charge pipe back up to your throttlebody. I would recommend an aftercooler as well, but it's not a MUST in a remote mount application.
