Default 3rd gen efan

What's the best fan set up? And how does everyone switch it on? Thinking this might be best mod for mpg gain.

I'm using the Flex-a-lite 183 kit, its a direct fit kit for 03-08 ram hemis, comes with everything you need. Best prices are on Amazon.

probably a thermostat probe connected to a controller..sometimes you can tell it at what temp to turn on. I myself use a Ford Taurus efan which i picked up for $25 at a pick an pull. Then hooked it up to a dc controller (fk60) and have it auto turn on at 170 degrees, I also have it setup where it's always on at 10 percent, this is more of a security thing for me to let me know the fan is working. I also have a manual switch to the controller so that I can totally turn it off (during winter). I have over 100k miles on this fan too..

I also run the flex-a-lite 183. I have it wired into a constant power source and the thermostat probe activates the relay turning it on, so even after I shut off the key, it will continue to cool the engine down... handy for things like towing, or at the strip when you want to avoid heat soak issues.

Well, on my drive from Alberta to Tennessee last summer my engine temps never got over 190 with my 180 T-stat installed as well. When I'm at the track I don't see any temp rise either since it will kick on very early and keep running even after I shut down.

The 183 kits are $250 on Amazon, everything you need, brackets, wiring, controller etc. Its a great kit if you don't want to rig up a bunch of different pieces.
