Default Keyless remote possessed or ticked off Ram?

So I decided to take the blackout tape off my truck today. While cleaning off the left over adhesive my truck begins to lock itself...repeatedly. It was going fast enough to engage the remote starter, 3x lock to start. It got to the point that it would try to start, but would then shut itself off before it had a chance. There was some lovely starter sounds going on. I disconnected the remote starter, but was still locking itself. I took the fob apart, looked at it like I had some idea what to do, put it back together and it seemed fine. I guess I should be glad it was locking and not unlocking, but still a little weird. Anyone else had this happen? Hope I didn't piss off the Ram by taking stuff off.

Sounds like a case of
jeans too tight
the FOB was in your pocket, you were scraping, rubbing, & polishing
causing the FOB buttons to keep up

unlock, lock, unlock, try to start, the only thing that you didn't have going on was the windows going down & PANIC mode

I had thought of that, but this country boy doesn't rock the tight jeans, and I keep my keys on a belt clip. Plus I was holding the fob in my hand and it was still doing it. I guess it just wanted to be locked.

yep...gonna change the battery just to be safe. Besides, if it didn't need it before, it does now! Probably need some new parking light bulbs soon too, it looked like a disco in front of my house.

I think you undressing the ram pissed her off! lol

I couldn't help you with this though man, disconnect the battery, hook her back up after a few minutes. Let her reset herself and see what goes on from there.

But I can't help myself...she's just so damn sexy!! Think I can make it up to her if I buy her a lift kit?

No problems after I took the battery out of the FOB.

My 99 sport keyless quit for almost two years. New batteries, cleaned the FOB, nothing. Then it went all "Christine" on me and started working one day. Just my luck with keyless I guess.

could be an issue with key fob so it thinks the button is being pressed. may be worn out....or maybe chek your neg batter connection. It mmay not be grounded causing elec surges. happened to me once and killed the battery

way off topic, but prolly related...

i have a remote controlled ceiling fan in my bedroom. it comes on by itself, it changes speed by itself, and sometimes the light even comes on by itself.

im no engineer by any stretch of the imagination, but im thinking it has to be some sort of electronic interference..like someone else has a similar product in my neighbourhood and they are using it and causing interference in my house.

for example, if you've ever had a baby monitor on, you can sometimes here your neighbours kid, i believe that there are only so many frequencies available for these products, and no doubt, at sometime, some one near you will have a product with the same or similar frequency that will definately interfere with your product. i believe this principal is why garage door openers use rolling codes (always changing so a random joe cant just find your frequency and open your door). i dont think the practice of rolling codes is there for key fobs yet.

i admit, i havent looked into my celing fan problem yet, but i did think to try the battery. anyhow, not sure this helped, but my finaly guestimation is some interference from soomeone else's fob...but now im curious about my betteries...hope i have some double a's.

Why? Typical woman would think you were only buying her heels so that you could have a better view up her skirt!

Question is...would she be wrong?
