Red face Bikes in bed

I've had a ZX10 and a CBR600F4 in the bed at the same time, no problem. You could buy a strap called a Canyon Dancer that goes from one end of the bars, loops over the top tree to the other bar. It allows you to attach the tie downs without hitting any body panels on the bikes. A good thing to have for not much bucks.

If you load up this way more then just for the one trip, you might think about something like this

^that's really cool for an ATV, but I don't think I'd want to put a motorcycle on there. I don't feel it'd be secure enough(even though it'd probably be fine).

Canyon Dancers work really well. If you could
Pick those up. Keeps the ratchet straps from rubbing on your plastics. Not that big of a deal on short trips but a long trip and you will have damage.

I think I would look at renting a bigger trailer and putting the car and both bikes on the trailer. It would make things easier and safer all around.

I don't know, I'd rather haul than tow any day.

Interesting point on getting a bigger trailer. However, the car hauler is the biggest trailer that Uhaul rents out for cars. If they had a large enclosed trailer that i could also tie the bikes down it, then that would be optimal. However, I do not know of a company that would rent that type of trailer.

Also, was looking at ramps to get the bike up and into the bed. The truck does have a leveling kit on it and 33"s. Would that force me to get a much longer ramp? Was looking into one that can fold into half and be placed into the bed of the truck.

Man at this point it may be cheaper to just ship the motorcycles than buy all the accessories!

Good call on the canyon dancer tie downs. Very informative thread for me. Thanks guys!

Matt
