Default Federal Courigia MT towing????

Hey i was wondering if its safe to tow heavier loads on a 265/70/17 Federal Courigia MT. Im asking because i will be towing a 31 ft TT thats 6400lbs dry weight. I dont want to blow a tire due to overloading it, ill be pulling about 250 miles to Myrtle Beach one way. Thanks for you help in advance

im not sure. I couldnt find it on their website. All they had was a chart and i think it said 3100 lbs. To be honest i really have no clue about tires like the load ratings, sizes etc. I only know the first is width second is height and third is wheel width. But I dont know how they get those numbers

look on the side of the tire. You should set the tire to the max. cold air pressure which will be where they rate the tire.

It will look something like this but without the white highlighting

In short, he is going to have no issue towing the 6K

But That will show you the tires' load rating. So if it's 3100 x 4 divided by the net combined weight. 12,400. But that 6000 isn't dead weight like a haul in the bed. For the sake of argument, If that 6k were all in the bed, it would still leave you 6,400 for the weight of the truck and people, etc. basically, the tires are rated higher than the truck- that's good

But distribution is another concern. You should use a WD hitch setup

there is some math involved. here is a link to get started with the basics. don't know what cab configuration or gears you have but most likely you'll be o.k. unless you load the TT down too much.

Ok they are E rated. It says 3120 or something like that on the tire. The trailer will probably be 7000 loaded and ill be towing it with a 2004 1500 HEMI with offroad package, so it has the extra tranny cooler and 3.92 gear. I think it should do it fine but my only concern is the truck has 108000 on it
