I just replaced mine last week, if you (or a friend) have access to an air hammer, you can (VERY CAREFULLY) tickle it with a flat tip and it will usually break loose fairly easily. I stress CAREFUL, as I've been a tech for 25 yrs, the last 18 with Caterpillar. That's how I had to get mine off. Hope this helps.

PS: Make sure you're turning that clutch the correct direction, My fan is reverse rotation of the engine, due to the serpentine belt. The clutch threads so that engine rotation is in the tightening direction. Therefore, mine has right hand threads. Usually, if the fan is in rotation, it will have left hand threads. I hope this helps, Good Luck!

When I did it I made a spanner wrench that has bolts that fit into the fan. Then I used that to hold the fan in place and a large wrench to loosen up the nut holding the fan on.
