Default 08 and up 4.7l header opportunity!!

Hello all!!! I have just gotten off the phone with Gibson Perfromance, and this is what I was told!!!! If anyone with a 4.7l 2009 ram has the time, a week to two for R&D, they will make a marketable exhaust header for our new engine. Oh, and did I mention that the first one in gets the very first prototype for FREEEEEEEE!!!!!!

I'm confused....so whoever brings their truck in and lets them develop it on their engine they get the free one, and then they will be available for sale? Why only 2009?

Okay, so here is how it works. If you have the truck to let them develop it, you get it free, and then they will make it for the masses. Also, as far as an '09, that is the year that has the new body style for the 4th gen and as such, it will fit all years of the 4th gen up til '12 at least, however, as most know, the '08 has the same engine, and a larger engine bay, so they would have no problem with fitment. Gibson has spoken guys, if you live close to Corona, CA, or basically Riverside or the LA area, fill out the form on their website, and they will contact you, from what Scotty told me on the phone, pretty quickly as there is a pretty large market for shorties.. I know if I wasn't stationed in WA right now, I would be over there at break neck speeds to get this done on mine...

I'd do mine if I was closer, I'd buy a set for sure if the pricing is similar to their other products.

I so agree, they make some good headers and the availability for headers for our engine sucks.

Are you thinking of making the trip to CA?

I know you have a different bodystyle but same engine...I would think they'd need an 08 AND an 09, 10, or 11 to ensure fitment of all. Someone please do this so I can buy them lol.

I pretty sure the 08 has the biggest engine compartment, wouldn't think they would need one... In any case if I was in Cali, don't think why I would ever go back there after boot camp, I would get it done asap.

I just got a response from Gibson:

Hello Sean,
The headers have been developed with an early stage proto type. The project has been put on hold for 8-10 weeks to finish up other projects that seem to be showing a higher demand. So in short we have been working on them and I would expect a release date closer to the end of the year.

Thank You,

Shawn

So by end of year hopefully we'll have some budget minded shorty's available to us....can't come any faster lol.
